Norway, you were amazing!

Last weekend I was the guest organiser at Castellum in Moss, Norway. This field is run by OMS and it's always a pleasure to be back. OMS is a club that pushes the community forward in any way possible. They bring in new people, try new things and keep expanding the knowledge to anyone that wants to listen.

On Saturday we started with dividing the players in 3 groups, my favourite way of doing it on CQB fields with shorter missions. It gives people the chance to roam more and play the objective instead of hitting walls of players everywhere. The rotation system is liked by players as they start bonding with their team to complete the missions together.

The scores were noted on a whiteboard so people could keep track of what was going on and push a bit harder when needed. That created a really nice vibe during the whole day. We ended the day at around 1700h, taking an hour break for the evening games.

The day games seemed a lot for most players and I had 9 people left to play the evening games. Which created a whole different vibe on the field. Small teams with special respawn rules, I love it. We stopped the games at around 2030. After that the NVG people could take some dark pictures on the field. We locked the door at around 2200 for some sleep with a really nice ocean view.

The next day we opened the doors at 0830 and people slowly started pouring in again for another day of shooting each other. With some first timers entering the game, it was fun to see how the regulars helped the first timers to find their way into airsoft. The games were hard but fair and complaints were very well managed by all players. We ended the games at 1630 where I packed up my things said my goodbyes and went back home to give the wife a big hug.

I even had the chance to run a few games myself to feel the balance of the teams. As a marshall it's not always easy to see how things are going, unless you join in and join the games. I got some questions about the rifles I was using, I used the ICS (Duh) DDM4 PDW.

Another great Norway weekend and I already look forward to the next one!
We tried some new game modes, we tweaked them and I'll bring them back for next time!

I had my camera with me but didn't had the time to take pictures but I did had my phone so I did took a few personal impressions of my weekend.

First time trying out making a burger on my portable stove and cutting the vegtibles and cooking the onions, buns and burgers gave a really relaxing moment in between the hectic hours. I do need to upgrade the kit a bit to make it a bit better. I'll add it to the list of things to get.

Oh, of course we used Ares Alpha to run most game modes! Ares Alpha is still the best thing out there for an organiser like me to run games in many different places.

I also brought the Eshooter shooting range so people could have fun on the targets. I also need to update that one a bit so it can stand on it's one instead of using some kind of box to put it on. I need to stop giving myself more work.

Thanks again and see you in the next one!
