The reason we play airsoft is for each person different. The expectations for the game you have been looking forward to for months can't be the same as your fellow airsofter beside you.
For me, different games have different reasons to go to, sometimes I want to play a tactical game with my friends, sometimes I just want to be left alone and do my thing. To be able to do that, I pick my games carefully for what they offer so I can play the way I like within the game as it was created by the organisers.
Aligning the expectations as a player and organiser for any game will result into an amazing time. Any other outcome will result in disappointment.
You as a player play the game that is meant to be played, not the one you need it to be for you. It comes down to RESPECT for the organiser and the players around you.
The picture is taking about 10 years ago on a WW2 vs Vietnam game where we played football with a white teddy bear. The reactions from the outside world were in direct contrast with what the players signed up for and endured during the game. The comments telling me that this was not the way to organise a game or this was not what airsoft is about, made me think and lead to me finally posting this small brainfart.
I keep working on ways to improve how people can meet their expectations and enjoy a great game.
Expectations is key for a great game!
