October 2023, Update

It’s been a while since the previous update. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and the communication was a bit neglected. But we’re back and it’s a big one.

- Fundraiser Update 03,
Mid-September we launched our fundraiser to fund the third major update. We reached 10% of our goal in the first 2 weeks and have a long way to go. As soon as the goal is reached, the developers start working on the features, announced in the update. The funds raised will only be used to develop, test and roll out those updates. The focus, for update 03, is on the events and organisers. By giving all organisers the chance to post their events, players have an easier way to find the events they want to join. It’s a big step in bringing players together, by giving them a place to find all events and broaden their horizon and experience new fields, players, games and organisers.

- New Countries added to the network,
Growing the network and spreading the word is a key task and we managed to broaden that network more in the past months. New countries have been added to the Airsofter World network. The new contacts were added to the Discord and follow the new updates and join the meetings to see how we can help build the community in their country or region.

The new countries are:
Israel
Croatia
Norway
Denmark

Besides finding a new network in different countries we strengthen the network in the existing countries. Growing the Airsofter World team and start bringing airsofters together step by step. We focus on a few countries at the time to do that. This way we don’t get lost in the pool of conversations and we can build that solid foundation. The team building in Germany, Norway, Sweden and Denmark is in a higher gear and more meetings are coming in the near future. Of course the other countries are not forgotten and with bi-monthly meetings we keep up to date with each other. Our admin Discord provides a treasure of information for all people involved.

With the rise of our Airsofter World Miro board, the data on the Discord is now visualised. The overwhelming data was a lot for new contacts, the miro makes this a lot more chewable.

- Analytics,
We’re happy to see an increase in accounts across the globe. Countries, where events are organised with Airsofter World, are growing at a steady rate. The Czech Republic, Norway and Germany saw an increase in users from their country because of that. We surpassed 10500 accounts and keep growing and reaching more people in different countries. Every month we share the gains of users on our social media and our AW profile.

- Associations,
Airsoft Associations are an important building block to create an international airsoft network. Airsofter World has contact with different associations that are linked to the European Airsoft Federation but also with Associations not linked to it. By connecting those associations together in a bigger network we can support each other in achieving the same goal. The first step is finding the active associations and opening up a line of communication. This step is ongoing and good progress has been made in the last weeks.

If your country has an active airsoft association, let us know so we can open up that communication.

- Translation Update,
Airsofter World has an automated translation to English. This means that everything posted ,that does not originate from your country, will be translated into English. The posts from your country will still be in your country's language and not be translated. It’s not a perfect solution but it works for now. Especially for countries with multiple languages, this is not the best solution. With an upcoming future update this will be polished into a better translation process.

This translation went down for a few days but thanks to our development team, it was quickly restored and the translation is working again.

- Social media posts,
Since September we have been more active on other social media platforms. The posts vary from new features, Airsofter World supporters, interesting players or the monthly new accounts, shown per country.
Reaching out to other social platforms is a new step in growing Airsofter World. With the team we have to calculate every move we make to keep the balance of our growth. You can find those updates on our Facebook or Instagram and of course on Airsofter world.

- Organisers roadmap,
You might have noticed that a lot of functions in Update 03 are specifically for Organisers. One of the main goals for Airsofter World is to gather all events on one platform to make it easy for the player to find a game he wants.

We noticed that explaining the different steps of development aren’t always easy to explain. So we made a roadmap to show what has happened and what is coming in the future.

We get a lot of questions of possible features and yes, creating specific features will be possible in the future but first we need to have our basics ready. After Update 03, all organisers will be able to add their events, if they use the Airsofter World registration or not.

If you’re an organiser and have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. We work with the input we get from organisers around the globe and set the priority list accordingly.

- Leaflet ready,
As we proceed to get more in the open with Airsofter World and open up conversations to shops, manufacturers, organisers and players, a structured document was needed to be able to explain Airsofter world in a few basic categories.

After a lot of going back and forward about the layout and text we finally managed to complete the leaflet. You can find the leaflet in different airsoft shops, with organisers or with Airsofter World people that want to spread the word.

The leaflet is not just a piece of paper with information, it’s another step in spreading the brand name and showing people what we do and why we do it.

- Airsofter World on site,
Airsofter World is an online platform but it’s an online platform about something physical, something that you have to experience and be part of if you want to reach the players.

Airsofter World consists of airsoft players, players from all over the world that believe in the future of a united airsoft. You will bump into us in different fields, enjoying ourselves playing airsoft.

You can follow the bigger events on our platform, where we will share where we will be. Would you like us to come and visit and explain more about Airsofter World, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Even if we’re just there as a player to enjoy the game, we’re happy to answer your questions. Now we just have to find a way to make ourselves visible in those games, so you know who to talk to. Somebody mentioned patches?

- Support by,
We can’t do it alone, we need help on different levels and we’ve got help and that is amazing. Shops like Paradox Tactical (Germany) believe that working together will grow airsoft and is good for any business linked to the sport. Airsoft Action (UK) has been around for years and years and supports us in our journey to grow airsoft as a community and share the information to those who need it. Deepsilver (Germany), Sunne Airsoft (Sweden), Molde Airsoftklubb (Norway), … who are testing and improving the events section and clearing the path for all organisers to jump on Airsofter World.

Those early adopters, supporters and believers are a driving force to keep us going. Not only financially but with their knowledge of experience in their field of airsoft. We can’t thank you enough for your support!

- ‘I’m on Airsofter World’ badge,
We can talk strategies, we can talk ideas, we can share different opinions on how to spread the word about Airsofter World. As you have read, we are slowly moving in different directions and penetrating the airsoft community on different levels. The last thing might be something small and simple but it’s one of my favourites. A small little badge that can be used in different ways. We have people using it on their pictures to show support and make people acquainted with the Airsofter World logo, making them ask questions about it. Other people have it on their facebook page, a badge on their banner. A permanent place where people who visit their profile can see the little badge.

Why not take it a step further and make it physical as a real badge that we as players can wear to show our support for Airsofter World and spread the word about it.

Would this be something that you’re interested in? Let us know.

- Thanks you,
A last small topic to thank you, the player, the supporter, the organiser, the shop, the manufacturer or the enthousiast. You keep us going to provide a worldwide service to all connected to airsoft in one way or the other. We have a long way to go and we have a lot of hills to climb but we’re taking each obstacle step by step, as a team.

Thank you!

Robrecht,
Airsofter World
