Gameday with VSAF, but a bit different.

It has been a little over a month that I had the change to run around in a forest and hunt people. I kitted up and joined a Sunday game with the people from VSAF. The weather was good but a bit chilly and that gave me the perfect excuse to test some things that I should have done earlier.

1) Test my gear in colder weather. How many layers do I need, can I easily remove a layer, can I carry the removed layer, ...

2) Do not reload in game, only use what I have on me, which was my normal 8+1 magazines. I did not have a pistol.

Results,

1) I was too cold and too warm at the same time. Switching my jacket over my rig but under my backpack made it easier to take that off before an assault before running hot. Too cold from standing still for too long. I had an extra sweater in my backpack and will replace that with a small blanket that I can throw over me. The long johns on my legs, still debating cause it was nice to have when not moving but heating up fast when I started running.
Maybe I just need to take it a bit slower in colder weather... Suuuuure Slow 😃
Oh, brought a small thermos with hot water to mix with powdered soup, that's a keeper!

2) It was interesting to calculate my shots more and closer to the end I could also shoot more because I knew I was going to make it. Because of that I only used 4 mags during the whole day (80bbs per mag) and 3 were not empty, just a reload before a new assault. It made me more aware of what I was doing and it was a perfect training to see how long I can last with the stuff I have on me during different engagements. Truth be told, this is very depending on the length of the battle and the size of the enemy unit.

All in all, it was fun to not lead anything and just be me and do my thing. As usual, I did not drink enough water, shame on me!
